The topicality and diversity of figurative expression,…
…the search for new themes and the duration of the event are some of the most impressive characteristics of Ex Tempore of Grožnjan, which has become a significant reference point on the cultural map of Istria over the last twenty years.
For hundreds of figurative artists, it has become a pleasant habit to wait for late September to visit Grožnjan and create art on a given theme, thus expressing their artistic talent and creative power in one of the most beautiful Istrian towns, whose name has become synonymous with art and culture. Grožnjan is the City of Artists and Ex Tempore contributes significantly to this; not only did it become a role model for other artistic events, but with its everlasting research of multifaceted artistic expression, it also allowed many painters and an ever-growing audience to feel at ease, and to create things that are immanent to this event since the very beginning. For this reason, we want to congratulate the Italian Union, the UPT and the Municipality of Grožnjan for the two decades of incessant and high-quality innovations. Our wish for the future is to continue meeting the artists that will mark Grožnjan, its inhabitants and its beauty.
